Bled and Bohinj

Bled and Bohinj excursion

Departure from your hotel and journey to Lake Bohinj where you will visit Slovenia's largest natural lake. A short journey through Bohinj will take us to the Savica Waterfall. After a short climb your effort will be rewarded with an impressive view of the 60-metre waterfall. At the stop at Ribcev laz you can take a stroll by the lake or visit the church of St. John and see the well-preserved frescos from the 15th and 16th centuries. The journey back will take us through the villages of the upper Bohinj Valley and from the car you will be able to see the rustic architecture, typical of the region. Lastly, you will visit Bled, a place of another famous alpine lake. We suggest the ride around the lake with a short stop at "Vila Bled", the former residence of the King Alexander Karadjordevic and Marshal Tito, and to the Bled Castle, which is situated on a cliff, 100 m high above the lake. You shall enjoy the magnificent view from the castle and the guided tour of the castle. After visiting the castle you shall take the special boat »pletna« to bring you to the island with the church of St. Mary and the famous » Wishing Bell«. In the late afternoon return to the hotel.
