Ljubljana
Ljubljana- the capital
Ljubljana is the political, cultural, scientific and university capital of Slovenia, as well as the scene of many international events.
Ljubljana is large enough to have everything that other capitals do and at the same time small enough to show warmth and hospitality to every visitor. You can visit the Baroque Town Hall building, the seat of the municipal government, with the famous Robba Fountain in front of it, and continue across the lively fruit-, vegetable- and flower market designed by architect Jože Plečnik, pass the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the Slovenian Tourist Information Centre, across the Dragon Bridge, an Art Nouveau masterpiece, adorned with dragons, the symbol of Ljubljana, and alongside the Ljubljanica River to the centrally located Prešern Square.
From the Prešern Square, you can continue the tour with a tourist train ride to the castle hill. An ascent to Ljubljana Castle's outlook tower (160 steps) awards you with a beautiful panoramic view of the city. After visiting St. George's Chapel, we will descend on foot to the Gornji trg and Stari trg squares, cross the Cobblers' Bridge and return to the Prešern Square, where the tour ends.
